Having a near-death experience for some people is like the best thing in the world. At that moment when you're about to die, your focus narrows on what's really important. You don't care about that money you owe. You don't care about that b**** from work.
What really matters is what really matters. It all becomes clear.
People don't usually talk about death. This gives them a sense of limitless time. As a result, they don't have a sense of urgency.
We end up wanting to achieve our goals not in some specific time but some abstract time. Once you get older, the things that you haven't achieved would come to you with more urgency.
Brushes with death illuminate what's really important in life. That illumination is the most powerful gift you can have. It carries wisdom.
People always procrastinate thinking they will always be young. The first time you leave home and then come back, something scary happens. You see your parents getting older. You begin to see mortality.
When you get older, you start connecting more deeply with people. This is because you get to realize what you have in common with them which is mortality.
This brings us closer in the present moment and, thus, intensifies our experience.
We discuss this in greater detail in my course.... click here.
