What is the real reason why women buy clothes? Why do some women have a closet full of clothes that they haven’t even worn? That’s wasting money but why does it happen and how can you avoid it?
It’s actually something deeper than wasting money, something that’s infinitely more valuable. Women buy clothes for many reasons; they may say they need it but you know that’s not true. Most of the time we are just buying self-esteem. I say “we” because I used to be like that as well.
Women are judged by our society by their looks and because of this, they begin to develop of sense of self-based on the reaction they’re getting from people. In order to keep living up to this self-esteem, they have to stay good looking but the problem is that women begin to associate positive good feelings with buying clothes. They’re not buying clothes to wear them but they’re buying clothes to feel better and this becomes a drug, an addiction.
When you begin to compare yourselves to other women, you begin to see yourself from a distorted perspective and suddenly you’ll see what you didn’t see in the past which is your imperfections. It becomes exaggerated because you gain momentum of low self-esteem.
A lot of women unconsciously use shop therapy for happiness and that’s why you have a closet full of clothes.
