Let's get your asses back into reality. You guys think you owned him. You guys think he was yours. You would say ‘that's my man.’
Let me tell you something that guys say to other men: when a woman leaves you, she was never yours. It was just your turn.
This concept liberates you. The reason why you got hurt is because you had the expectation that the person who hurt you was yours. It's almost as though you thought they were your property. This is how we think.
As adults, there is always a condition behind our love. A lot of times you think that when people are seeing you, they love you. In reality, you might be fulfilling a purpose that you have no idea you’re fulfilling. You thought he was fulfilling his desire to have a girlfriend. In reality, he was fulfilling his desire to have a girl who he can show off to his friends.
You think he likes you that's why he's showing you off. in reality he's never had the opportunity to show off a girl to his friends.
Understand that you never really know why someone is with you. You think they’re with you because of you. Go ahead and think that, but at the end of the day, it usually doesn't have anything to do with you.
Sometimes, they’re with you because you remind them of their ex. Sometimes they're with you because there were lonely and you just happen to be the one who's available.
That's how I deal with my breakups. She wasn't mine. It was just my turn.
It's just how life is. We're all giving each other turns. I'll go to you then, after I'm done with you, I'll go to another person. That's how it is. We just never see the whole process.
When things happen to you, the intensity of the moment is so hard that it's difficult for you to find sanity and look at the whole picture.
When you meet someone, don't say that ‘this could be the one for me’ but ‘right now, it's my turn.’ You can't be possessive with people. They're never really yours and you're never really theirs.
We discuss this in greater detail in my course.... click here.
