Narcissism is not black and white. We're all in a spectrum of narcissists. Some people are not as self-absorbed as other people.
We have so much untapped potential because of our own self-absorption. We have to learn how to turn this sensitivity upward. Self-absorption is about being sensitive regarding who you are as a person. When you are too sensitive about who you are, you are not able to fully understand yourself. The pain inside of you is so strong that you can't take a second to be with your own pain.
You will end up trying to change everything in your life except yourself. Everything else is seen in terms of your own self interest only. You cannot appreciate people for who they are because you cannot appreciate yourself.
You are so sensitive about your emotional problems because of your lack of confronting them. Any glimpse of your own pain causes you to look for distractions. That distraction comes in the form of using others as your self-soothing process. You are using others in your own therapeutic way.
You don't care about them. You mistreat them just as you mistreat yourself. You like that ability to know that other people are conscious along with yourself.
It's important to recognize deep narcissists around us. If you don't observe narcissistic behavior, you'll be entangled with people who you think are your friends but are trying to hurt you.
Narcissists have an amazing ability of turning things around and make you appear as the one who's wrong. In reality, they're the ones who are causing havoc. It's important for you to understand this concept. If you don't, you will always be in conflict which will get in the way of your goals.
