I started doing this today and realized how I forgot how effective it is to write your goals.
Writing down your goals excites you to achieve them. The excitement gives you the energy, the curiosity, the tenacity and the willpower to actually make it happen.
Every single day, write down what you want in your life in the present tense. Write down your goals today and then write them again tomorrow. When you do, don't look at the goals you've written down the day before.
Just write down 10 goals you want to achieve in 1 year. What's going to happen is that you're going to write one goal and then another one the next day. After a while, you'll notice that you will be writing down the same goals.
You're going to memorize it and it will go into your subconscious. Write them down every day. Write your top 10 goals and out of those, encircle the top 3 that will provide the biggest change in your life.
Then, write a plan for them. It's that simple. What this is going to do is it's going to give you that motivation.
When I did it today, I just felt the motivation. I felt more energy. I actually believe that it's going to happen. It's that simple.
If you haven't achieved anything in your life, what you might say is ‘What the f***. Writing down my goals, that’s silly. Look, I've been there. When I first started, I used to be broke. I used to make $30,000.00 a year.
It was 4 years ago when I began writing my goals. One of my goals was to become a web developer. Even though I didn't make it happen, it gave me a certain motivation and tenacity.
It made the wheels start turning and gave me that momentum. Every day I wrote down my goals, I would feel excited. What tends to happen is that whenever you feel that way about a goal, it means you believe in it.
When you get excited, it means you're seeing an image in your mind. To your subconscious mind, seeing is believing. You won't believe anything when you don't see it.
Anything you ever believe that you could do, you first saw in your mind.
If you know that you're going to do something tomorrow, what happens? You see it in your mind. If you don't believe that you're going to do something tomorrow, what happens? You don't see it in your mind.
The equivalent of seeing with the mind is believing. Excitement equals believing.
