A lot of times, people want to transform themselves. They want to read a book to change.
The key to transformation is simple. You transform yourself through practice. That is the only way you could transform yourself - through deliberate practice.
Practice for a long period of time. For example, I've changed since I began drawing. When you focus on something and it's your natural Inclination, your whole character changes. You become more serious.
Notice the best in the world - anyone who's the best in anything. They have like a serious demeanor about them. The reason is that when you're so focused, you're naturally serious.
As a result, when you snap out of it, that seriousness slips into your daily life. It becomes part of your character.
People are going to sense it. They're going to sense your focus and stuff like that. That is what emanates authority.
That's how you transform. Your focus becomes laser and you're not as easily distracted. Without even knowing it, you change.
As you're practicing, you're going to encounter problems. You're going to notice how much you really need to learn.
Finding the obstacle and trusting the fact that you will overcome it no matter the evidence really gives you faith in your natural abilities to learn.
You should know how to learn. The possibilities are endless.
For me it was basketball. I first learned that if I practiced playing basketball, I will get better. That was the first reference I've had with getting good at anything. That process of getting better at basketball completely changed how I viewed learning.
Stop trying to meditate your way into transformation. Work your way into it.
Set a goal And it's going to require a certain transformation from you.
Set the right goal and you’ll change for the better. When you start your goal, you're going to notice how much more you need to go. If you stay with it, your body will give you the necessary tenacity and creativity and energy to make it happen.
You know what's the beauty about it? Once you achieve your goal, that tenacity doesn't go. It actually carries momentum. It grows stronger the more you apply it to other things.
