If you see older people walking around, you think they're comfortable. You see the signs of aging and you think they've always been that way. You assume that it's who they think they are and they're comfortable with it.
For the most part, everyone is uncomfortable with every stage of life that represents aging. People resist the change and you see the resistance. They attempt to get in touch with what they once had or at least mimic it in some form or fashion.
That's because they're not fluid. People who learn how to be fluid in life are able to age without resistance. They're able to see themselves change and identify with it.
They accept every second of it
What tends to happen is it allows you to become mature as a person. You would feel the discomfort, but through overcoming it, you get the capacity to handle more. You can handle a lot more pressure without exerting as much energy because you trained that muscle.
As you grow older, you notice some resistance, but you don't resist. You see what's going on and then you go back to the present moment. That means becoming aware of all the sensations and noticing how the mind reacts.
It doesn't mean it's going to stop it. It means you're going to start energizing it.
You may underestimate how healthy you are mentally. You're going to think that you suck at this. Then, when you compare yourself with other people, you'll notice that people don't even have the ability to handle it.
You’ll see that you're able to do what they can't. It's not because you're special, it's because you trained that muscle.
