How do you give a guy a gift that is memorable. This is about how to find the perfect gift that is relevant to him.
I'm not talking about giving him a Walmart card or birthday sex. A gift that's meaningful is based on a person’s unfulfilled needs. It's based on a person's passions. It's based on certain insecurities.
It's not that you're doing it to strengthen an area. You want to find an area where he lacks and use a gift to empower him.
Personally, I play basketball. One of the hardest things in basketball is having a quality ball. It's expensive, so most people don’t buy it.
If you see that I love watching Larry Bird play basketball, the perfect gift would be an official NBA quality basketball or a Larry Bird jersey.
If people gave it to me, I'm going to remember it. It's because you paid attention. It's not about the gift.
People don't react to the gift itself. People react to the fact that you listened and you remembered.
You have to proactively look for the things he wants. Listen to any unfulfilled needs. He may say that he's never been to an NBA game and he would love to go to one.
Let's say that he's an artist on the side. You can give him notebooks with really good paper for him to sketch. It's based on his passion.
You have to find things that he's passionate about. Notice what he needs the most. Notice something that he didn't have the privilege to buy and get that for him.
Find a weak area and give a gift based on that.
I was with this girl who said that one of her favorite memories was she and her mom walking in the countryside picking berries.
I made a collage of that and gave it to her.
A big part of giving gifts is listening. If you didn't give a good gift, that means you didn't listen that well.
It's about finding a person's childhood ambition. Let's say that he talked about losing a toy when he was a kid and it broke his heart. If you're looking for a good gift, then buy that.
